Well this post is long overdue. This was quite an interesting project as I embarked on furthering My Matrics Collection I was also able to feature what some talented ladies are up to in Lydenburg. These ladies are called the Abafazi and they crafted the beautiful dresses and skirt in these photographs. My friend Elouise had a great influence on this project and together were able to put together a beautiful compilation of their work. Hopefully there will be more features from the Abafazi in the near future. We will watch in great expectation.
The day Kyla and I planned to do the shoot it was raining cats and dogs! Moving it up 2 days worked out perfect. And even though the weather also looked like it could start raining at any time, when I got there the light was just right. Especially near the end. It cast a beautiful golden glow. It was lovely. And Kyla was lovely too. She was relaxed and fun and I was happy to be her photographer. Thanks for the day!
On Monday and Tuesday Fabian Jood came to visit Lydenburg. Thesam has chosen our humble mining town to pioneer the South African Movement. Go check out Thesams Nation Builders Pledge and see if you're up for the challenge!
So this was just a little fun! I asked Maryke if she would like to do something fun? We didn't have much of an idea of what we wanted to do or maybe we did, but at this moment in time timing and resources were the block. So we decided to do a "Come What May" session and this is the result. Thanks Maryke and Monique. You girls were alot of fun and absolutely beautiful!
